The Women for Peace and Democracy – Nepal (WPD Nepal) is an independent, non profit, non governmental, non political, non commercial, non religious, women-led organization. This documentary shows how WPD –Nepal strives to empower women and unite their passion for building a peaceful and democratic in Nepal.
WPD Nepal helps to empower women and marginalized to improve their own wellbeing by enhancing their access to resources and livelihood skills. Promote economic opportunities for the women and marginalized which enhance their capacities and take into account their needs and aspirations. Strengthen the capacities of women and marginalized so they may participate in peace building measures actively and constructively. Lobby with the key stakeholders to use the resources effectively and efficiently for enhance security of the society.

Project Initiation & Research
Define the focus on press freedom challenges in Nepal, gathering data and testimonies on censorship, journalist intimidation, and policy changes. Establish context since Nepal’s transition to a federal democracy.
September 16, 2023
Pre-Production Planning
Outline the storyline around press freedom rankings, landmark cases, and legal reforms. Arrange interviews with journalists, activists, and experts, and select key filming locations.
October 4, 2023
Production & Filming
Film interviews, newsroom scenes, protests, and archival footage that reflect journalists’ struggles and resilience. Capture visuals highlighting media activity and press freedom events.
October 23, 2023
Post-Production
Edit footage into a compelling narrative showcasing Nepal’s media challenges and grassroots efforts. Use data visuals, archival clips, and a fitting soundtrack to engage viewers.
November 1, 2023
Final Review and Distribution
Complete final edits with stakeholder feedback, add subtitles for wider reach, and plan the release aligned with Special Day. Distribute through, online platforms, and advocacy networks.
